The Central Marin Police Authority’s Citizen Police Academy (CPA) provides our community with an inside look at local law enforcement and the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the police department. In weekly presentations, participants are introduced to a wide variety of law enforcement topics. The ten week academy program is designed to provide an overview of the Authority’s function and operational procedures.
The curriculum and teaching methods are similar to the traditional police academy; however, the once-weekly sessions are not designed to train the participant as a police officer. Police officers and professional staff teach the academy classes. Participants will have the opportunity to meet with the Chief of Police and staff members. Everyone is encouraged to ask questions and
engage in dialogue on law enforcement and community issues.
